Police seize more than 70 wraps of cocaine in Ljubljana city centre; 30-year-old Algerian detained
Over the past weekend, two police officers dealt with two cases of drug trafficking in Ljubljana city centre. During the proceedings, they seized cocaine, heroin and approximately 5,000 euros in cash.

Google News SI — Crime reports that police officers dealt with two separate cases linked to the trafficking of prohibited drugs in Ljubljana city centre over the past weekend.
In the first case, they stopped a passenger vehicle in which a 20-year-old driver and 19-year-old passenger were travelling. Officers found more than 70 wraps containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, and two wraps of powder believed to be heroin. They also seized a wrap of substance suspected to be cannabis and several tablets believed to contain steroids. In addition, they seized approximately 5,000 euros in cash and mobile telephones.
On the basis of a court order, police officers conducted a house search at the residences of the suspects, during which they seized several hundred euros in cash. The Ljubljana Police Directorate announced that both suspects will be criminally charged with the competent prosecutor's office on suspicion of unauthorised production and trafficking in prohibited drugs.
In the second case, police officers conducting duties in the security risk area of Metelkova detected the sale of prohibited drugs. A 30-year-old Algerian citizen sold to a citizen, in exchange for payment, an aluminium wrap containing approximately one gramme of white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. During the course of the proceedings, the suspect handed over another wrap of white powdery substance.
Police officers deprived the suspect of his liberty and detained him. Based on the information gathered, he was brought before the investigating judge with a criminal charge, who ordered his detention, the Ljubljana Police Directorate further announced.
