Complaint to prosecution: Sukič accuses Logar, Vrtovec and Ostrc of political corruption
Left MP Nataša Sukič has filed a criminal complaint with the State Prosecution Office in Ljubljana against Democrats president Anže Logar, Minister for Infrastructure Jernej Vrtovec and Minister for Health Tadej Ostrc. According to RTV SLO, the complaint was prompted by the background to the sudden resignation of MP Tea Košir from her parliamentary mandate.
In her complaint, Sukič alleges reasonable suspicion that the so-called quid pro quo political deal was orchestrated behind Košir's resignation. In her assessment, former Democrats MP Tea Košir was a victim of systematic intimidation, threats and financial extortion, through which she was forced to surrender her mandate in favour of the party and the broader coalition. This was allegedly done to maintain the political balance of power, which would have been lost with Košir's announced transition to the independent MPs group. As a reward for succumbing to the pressure, she was allegedly offered employment at the infrastructure directorate.
Sukič accuses Logar and the narrower Democrats leadership of the criminal acts of threatening, extortion, bribery, and extortion of an MP within criminal acts against the constitutional order and state bodies. She accuses the infrastructure ministry leadership and the responsible person at the infrastructure directorate of abuse of official position and complicity in securing unlawful benefits.
According to Sukič's complaint, Health Minister Ostrc refused to disclose the full contents of Tea Košir's resignation statement from her position as state secretary at the ministry. She therefore accuses him of reasonable suspicion of abuse of official position or failure to perform duties and concealment of official documents.
In addition to those mentioned, Sukič also reported a municipal councillor of the Resni.ca party from Jesenice, whose name she did not disclose. She accuses her of deliberate and coordinated action in financial extortion, obtaining personal data and pressuring an official person with the aim of influencing the composition of the National Assembly.
Sukič did not report Tea Košir herself, who returned to her company after her resignation. In Sukič's view, Košir was a victim of severe intimidation and financial extortion, which negated her free will.
