Shooting in Maribor city centre: 42-year-old shot in dispute between groups
Maribor police are investigating a shooting in which a 42-year-old man was shot. Police are seeking a 29-year-old and asking the public for information.

Maribor police investigating shooting, single shot fired
Maribor police officers are conducting an intensive investigation into a shooting that occurred in the city centre of Maribor, according to 24ur. A 42-year-old man from the Maribor area was shot in the incident. Based on information gathered so far, the incident concerns a dispute between two groups of people.
Multiple police patrols were dispatched to the scene of the incident, which carried out numerous measures and secured items important for the investigation. Stanko Vidovič, head of the Criminal Police Sector at Maribor Police Directorate, confirmed at a press conference that a single shot was fired.
Officers have identified several people involved in the incident. Among them is a 29-year-old, regarding whom police are appealing to the public for cooperation — they are asking for useful information about his movements. This information can be reported on telephone number 113 or on the anonymous line 080 1200.
One person was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody. Following verification, officers found no grounds for further detention and released the person. Investigators, based on their findings to date, note that some of the people involved had previously been dealt with on account of violent acts.
Part of the investigation also concerns a car that was in the square at the time of the shooting. Officers are examining its role and any possible connection to the incident. As the investigation is ongoing, police are not currently disclosing additional details.
