Shooting incident in Maribor: police search for 29-year-old suspect on the run

A 42-year-old man was shot on Monday afternoon at Trg Leona Štuklja in Maribor. Police are searching for a 29-year-old suspect who is at large.

Maribor: one shot, one injured, suspect still at large

Žurnal24 reports that on Monday afternoon at Trg Leona Štuklja in Maribor, a dispute broke out between two groups of people. During the incident, one shot was fired, which struck a 42-year-old man from the Maribor area. The injured man sought medical help.

Several police patrols arrived at the scene following the incident. Criminal investigators identified several people involved, among whom a 29-year-old suspect stands out, who is accused of the criminal acts of causing light bodily injury and causing general danger. The suspect is on the run.

Stanko Vidovič, head of the Criminal Police Sector of the Maribor Police Directorate, confirmed that the investigation is proceeding intensively. "We ask the public to report any information about the movements of the 29-year-old," Vidovič said. The police accept information at the number 113 or on the anonymous line 080 1200.

One person was temporarily detained on Tuesday, but the suspicion was not confirmed, so they were released. Vidovič also confirmed that some of the people involved had been dealt with in the past for criminal acts with elements of violence.
