Driver who hit cyclist and fled in Breg pri Mežici arrested – faces up to 13 years imprisonment
Police have traced the driver and passenger who left a seriously injured 73-year-old cyclist on 30 September. The driver will be brought before the investigating judge.

On 30 September, police officers dealt with a traffic accident in the Breg pri Mežica area in which a 73-year-old cyclist was extremely seriously injured. The driver of the car that hit him, along with a passenger, did not render assistance – both left the scene of the accident on foot.
According to Delo, the Celje Police Directorate announced today that they have traced both the driver and the passenger.
The driver will be brought before the investigating judge with a criminal indictment. He is suspected of committing three criminal offences: unauthorised use of a motor vehicle under Article 210 of the Criminal Code, dangerous driving in traffic under Article 324 of the Criminal Code, and abandonment of an injured party in a traffic accident without assistance under Article 328 of the Criminal Code.
For the stated criminal offences, sentences of up to 13 years' imprisonment are threatened.
