Inmate escapes from hospital in Novo mesto; court officer injured
41-year-old convicted prisoner Srečko Brajdič escaped from in front of General Hospital Novo mesto. During the escape he was barefoot, and a court officer sustained minor injuries.

According to RTV SLO, police in the Novo mesto area are searching for 41-year-old inmate Srečko Brajdič, who escaped from in front of General Hospital Novo mesto around 9 o'clock. He was barefoot at the time of escape.
Brajdič is a convicted prisoner from Dob prison near Mirna. The Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions explained that he fled escort after his hospitalisation was completed. During the incident a court officer sustained minor injuries and received treatment in the hospital in Novo mesto.
Police were informed of the escape immediately and launched activities to locate and apprehend the prisoner. Once he is apprehended, he will be handed over to court officers for further proceedings.
The Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions stated that it cannot provide more detailed information about the prisoner — including reasons for hospitalisation and circumstances of serving the sentence — due to personal data protection.
