13-year-old injures multiple people in Slovak school – one dead
A pupil attacked teachers and classmates with a knife at a school in Slovakia. A 61-year-old woman died and at least two other people were injured.

According to WELT, a 13-year-old pupil at a primary school in Staskov stabbed teachers and classmates with a knife. The attack claimed at least one life. A 61-year-old woman died in the attack – according to reports from Slovak media, she was the school's former headmistress.
A child was airlifted by rescue helicopter to hospital in critical condition. A 44-year-old woman sustained stab wounds to the chest and was also treated medically. Police said the situation was under control and no one was in immediate danger.
The incident occurred at the school in Staskov, approximately 185 kilometres north-east of Bratislava, in the Cadca district. The suspected perpetrator was in the eighth grade. There were initially no details about the precise sequence of events, the motive, or further background.
Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok and Education Minister Tomas Drucker travelled immediately to the scene of the incident. Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed his concern: "Schools must be a safe place for our children, otherwise we will have no future," he wrote on Facebook. President Peter Pellegrini expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and called the event "a warning for the whole of society".
