A key witness in the case of journalist Ján Kuciak's murder explained why he mentioned Petra Tóth only months after his first testimony.

Zoltán Andruskó, the main witness in the trial concerning the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak, repeatedly addressed inconsistencies in his testimonies during court proceedings. This was reported by the portal Denník N.
Marián Kočner's defence lawyer, Marek Para, was interested in why Andruskó, in his initial interrogation on 8 October 2018, shortly after police had detained suspects, did not mention Petra Tóth or a meeting with him. It was only later, after several months, that the witness mentioned Tóth.
In court, Andruskó explained that the reason was that at the time of the first interrogation he did not know Tóth's name. According to his statement, he identified him only from photographs after a certain period of time had passed.
The witness also spoke about how, after Kočner was remanded in custody in summer 2018, he participated in a meeting in Komárno. Zsuzsová told him that they were to meet with a person whom the entire Kočner family trusted.
Andruskó arrived at the location late, which upset Zsuzsová. When leaving, they met a man who shook his hand through an open car window. Andruskó described him as shorter than Zsuzsová, self-assured – and later identified him as Petra Tóth.
Tóth himself, a former associate of Kočner, denies any such meeting. He claims that until the time of Zsuzsová's detention, he knew nothing about her and communicated with her exclusively through mobile messages.
