Methamphetamine dealer and his girlfriend serve sentences, appeals rejected
The Košice Regional Court on Thursday rejected appeals by a couple arrested by police in November last year during an anti-drug operation. The 32-year-old Filip H. was convicted of the offence of unlawful manufacture and trafficking in narcotic substances, while his 25-year-old girlfriend Simona F. was sentenced for the misdemeanour of possession of drugs.
Investigators established that the man distributed methamphetamine in Košice for at least a year. From January 2023 onwards, he repeatedly procured narcotics from multiple sources and sold them to at least three buyers. He supplied drugs to Rastislav Š. from November 2024, usually several times a month, for amounts up to 20 euros. He sold repeatedly to Roland V. from December 2024, several times weekly, with prices ranging between 10 and 20 euros. He supplied drugs to another client, Lívia T., once a month for 50 euros.
An interesting aspect of the case was the consideration provided to the girlfriend. Simona F. received methamphetamine three to four times weekly free of charge, in return providing the man with sexual services. In November last year, she voluntarily handed over to police officers a glass pipe containing a white crystalline substance. Laboratory analysis confirmed 0.103 grams of methamphetamine with almost 75 per cent purity, which she had obtained from Filip.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused did admit the facts, but disagreed with the legal classification. At the hearing before the regional court panel, however, both changed their position and admitted guilt. Nevertheless, they appealed against the length of their sentences. The appeal proceedings on Thursday ended with rejection.
