Proceedings continue in Pezinok against Samuel S., who faces a charge of premeditated murder at a school in Spišská Stará Ves. On Tuesday, the panel presented text messages sent by the defendant before the incident.
Communication with his friend Filip revealed that the young man had obtained a dagger and carried it with him, including during school tests. He wrote that when he lost his temper, he would kill his classmates. There were also statements about shooting up the school or that he would be capable of murdering even without a weapon.
His parents had an inkling of his condition. His mother, in a message shared, mentioned that her son was taking his individual study plan badly. His father found a knife at home that he had obtained himself. The woman acknowledged that once he made a decision, nobody would stop him.
Samuel S. displayed strong hatred towards two female classmates. In one conversation, he stated that he would scalp one of the girls alive.
According to the charges, the tragedy took place on 16 January 2025. The young man brought a hunting knife and first attacked the 51-year-old deputy headteacher, whom he killed with multiple stab wounds. He then attacked an 18-year-old student, Alena, whom he also killed. Another classmate who attempted to intervene suffered moderately serious injuries. A third intended victim could not be attempted because she was absent that day.
After the attack, he fled into the forest, where police apprehended him. The prosecutor's office in Prešov charged the young man with a particularly serious crime. He denies guilt and remains in custody. His request for release was rejected by the court; the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic confirmed this.
Prosecutor Michal Šoltýs told journalists that the evidence presented corroborates the allegations in the charge. The defence will comment on them only in their closing arguments.
