Košice dealer nicknamed Frigo remanded in custody, sold methamphetamine and cannabis
A fifty-three-year-old resident of Košice who hid under the nickname Frigo has been taken into custody by police. The man, named Ladislav S., faces charges of illegal trafficking in narcotic substances. If found guilty by the court, he risks losing his liberty for three to ten years.
An operation against him took place as part of an initiative called Iron, which Košice police launched with the aim of breaking up a network of dealers in the city. According to witness statements, Frigo rode around the Železníky district on a bicycle and offered methamphetamine and cannabis to interested parties. His customers included persons under eighteen years of age. In addition to cash for drugs, he also took stolen items and antiques.
The investigation began in May 2026 after at least two anonymous tips were received by police. Their authors described a middle-aged man who was used to spending time in a gaming hall or bar and was distributing prohibited substances on two wheels. It was established that since the beginning of 2025 he had been purchasing narcotic substances from an unknown source and keeping them in a temporary flat in the Juhu district of Košice. From there he supplied clients not only in the surrounding area but also in other parts of the city.
The public prosecution office for the second Košice district filed a motion to remand the accused in custody, stating that if at large he could continue his illegal business activities. The judge granted the motion and ordered remand in custody.
