Two men without driving licences switched places at the wheel near Zlaté Moravce and ended up in a ditch
Near Zlaté Moravce, two men under the influence of pervitin fled from police and switched places at the wheel during the drive. They eventually lost control and ended up in a ditch.
Police chase ends in ditch: both men drove without licences and under the influence of drugs
The Regional Police Directorate in Nitra reported that Zlaté Moravce police officers identified a Citroën Saxo vehicle with a non-functional right front light during a night patrol on road I/65. When they decided to stop it, the driver did not respond to the light warning signal or the Stop sign — instead, he increased speed and turned onto Prílepská Street.
According to Aktuality, police officers observed during the pursuit that the vehicle's crew switched places at the wheel whilst driving. During this dangerous manoeuvre, the crew lost control of the car and it went into a ditch beside the road.
Two men got out of the vehicle, and they stated that they had used pervitin before driving. Fearing a police check, they panicked and decided to switch places during the drive. A breath test for alcohol tested negative for both men, however both showed signs of using a psychoactive substance. They were taken to hospital for a biological sample collection.
Toxicological testing of the 35-year-old man showed the presence of methamphetamine and amphetamine. Testing of the 25-year-old man confirmed methamphetamine, amphetamine and THC. Neither of them was a holder of a driving licence.
