Police on Monday (1 June) charged two men with the criminal offence of dangerous threatening following an incident in one of the villages in Poprad district, Aktuality reports. Regional police spokeswoman Jana Ligdayová from Prešov identified the accused as a 44-year-old and a 41-year-old man.

The older of the pair entered the kitchen of a family home, where he used vulgar language towards a 40-year-old woman and threatened her, saying he would put a gun to her head and kill her. Shortly afterwards, the younger man, sitting in a private vehicle, made hand gestures towards the woman indicating that he would cut her.

The conduct of both men caused the woman to fear for her own life. According to Ligdayová, both ended up in police custody. An authorised officer of the District Police Department of the Police Force in Svite charged them with the criminal offence of dangerous threatening.
