Illegal campaigns masquerading as state institutions have flooded the online space. The perpetrators claim to offer lucrative returns on money under the auspices of the ministry of finance and the National Bank of Slovakia. However, the ministry has firmly denied any connection with these activities. The report was brought by the server Trend.sk.
Criminals exploit the good reputation of public bodies to gain the trust of potential victims. They promise high and guaranteed returns without any risk, which is a typical sign of fraud.
The ministry has warned citizens to be careful. It does not recommend sharing suspicious links or downloading programmes from unverified sources. No one should disclose personal, financial and login information. According to the ministry, rapid and guaranteed enrichment is an illusion.
If anyone encounters such content, they should report it to the platform operator. These scams are among the most common forms of cybercriminal activity, and their perpetrators often operate from abroad.
