Jaroslav Naď attacked in Senec: man allegedly tried to extinguish cigarette on his face
The leader of Democrats Jaroslav Naď reported a physical attack at a petrol station in Senec. According to him, the attacker attempted to extinguish a cigarette on his face.

The leader of the extra-parliamentary Democrats and former defence minister Jaroslav Naď became the target of an attack at a petrol station in Senec on Monday morning. According to Aktuality, the incident began with a verbal altercation and escalated into physical conflict.
Naď describes the attacker as an "evidently psychologically unstable individual supporting Russians and extremists". According to him, the attacker attempted to extinguish a cigarette directly on his face and physically provoke him. "He did not succeed," the Democrats leader stated.
The politician did not file a criminal complaint. "I did not file a criminal complaint because it would end as it always does when someone from journalists or from the opposition files one. A misdemeanour for the attacker for 30 euros…" Naď explained.
On social networks he published a photograph of the man and the car in which he arrived. He described this step as intentional. "I believe that no employer wants to have in their workplace a person who is a brawler, a ruffian and an evidently aggressive psychopath," the former minister wrote. At the same time, he accused the attacker of endangering other road users whilst driving to Bratislava.
Naď placed the incident in a broader political context. According to him, the state tolerates attacks on opposition representatives and critical journalists. "Attacks by various disturbed individuals against opposition representatives or critical journalists are becoming more frequent. They dare to do it. Why? Because they think they can. Because the responsible authorities do not act adequately against spreaders of hatred and those making threats," the politician stated.
He perceives police activity as selective — according to him, it is intense only in cases where representatives of coalition parties are the victims.
Naď refused to characterise his social media post as an attempt to gain attention. "It is a warning about what those of us who point out injustice, government theft, or extremism must face," concluded the leader of the extra-parliamentary party.
