Penitent in Očistec case refuses confession before court
The prosecution's case in the Očistec matter was heard in court. The defendants, including Tibor Gašpar and Norbert Bödör, maintain they are innocent. Surprising was the behaviour of Bernard Slobodník, who previously cooperated with the police.
Slobodník was expected to plead guilty at the beginning of the proceedings, as is expected of penitents. He did not do so. The reason is a change in criminal law, due to which he is uncertain whether he will retain the benefits from his previous confession and cooperation.
Reporter Ivana Zigová followed the hearing and discussed the details in a podcast.
