Kuciak case: recordings of telephone call with Kočner to be played in September at Special Criminal Court

According to Google News SK — Crime (sk), at the main hearing on 7 September in the case of the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak, a telephone call between the accused Marián Kočner and Kuciak from September 2017 will be presented. Also scheduled is the playing of a press conference at which the journalist put questions to Kočner.
The presiding judge of the Special Criminal Court (ŠTS) in Pezinok, Miroslav Mazúch, informed about this on Wednesday 26 August. At Wednesday's hearing, witness statements and further documentary evidence were read.
In addition to playing the communication, further evidence proposed by prosecutors is scheduled for the September hearing — including checks on the murdered journalist and several expert opinions.
Kuciak was killed in February 2018 in Veľká Mača in Galanta district. His fiancée Martina Kušnírová also died in the murder. Marián Kočner and Alena Zsuzsová are accused of ordering the murder. The Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic annulled the previous two verdicts, so the case came before the ŠTS for the third time.
The perpetrators of the murder, Miroslav Marček and Tomáš Szabó, received 25-year custodial sentences. Intermediary Zoltán Andruskó was sentenced to 15 years in custody. Szabó is also finally convicted of preparing murders of prosecutors since 2022.
In conjunction, a case of preparing murders of prosecutors Maroš Žilinka and Dušan Lipšic, which according to the indictment was to take place in autumn 2017, and Petra Šufliarsky in 2018 is also being tried. In addition to Kočner and Zsuzsová, Dušan Kracina and Darko Dragič also face charges in this matter. The murders were not carried out.
