Robbery of nine-year-old girl in Sečovce: man detained within an hour, faces 12 years

A 28-year-old man struck the girl in the face and snatched 30 euros directly from her hand. Police detained him within an hour, and a judge approved his remand in custody.

Attack on schoolgirl in Sečovce: perpetrator ends up behind bars

Košice regional police informed Korzár about a robbery in which the victim was a nine-year-old schoolgirl in Sečovce in Trebišov district.

"A nine-year-old girl was walking along a pavement. She did not know that a 28-year-old man had noticed her. He approached her, struck her in the face, and snatched 30 euros from her hand, which she was holding in her palm. Then he fled," police stated. The girl sustained no injuries.

However, the perpetrator did not get far — within an hour, police officers apprehended him. An investigator charged him with the crime of robbery and filed a motion for his remand in custody. The judge accepted the motion, and the man is currently in custody.

Since the act was committed against a minor who enjoys special legal protection, if found guilty he faces a sentence of deprivation of liberty for seven to twelve years. Police have initiated criminal proceedings.
