Assault rifle on car roof: aggressor from Trebišov remanded in custody

Novinky.cz reports on a case from eastern Slovakia where a 42-year-old man terrorised residents of a village in Trebišov district in late August. With an automatic weapon placed on his vehicle roof, he drove through the village whilst holding it in place with his hand — footage from security cameras documents the course of events.

Košice police released details of the case on Thursday on Facebook. Shortly after the man's arrival, sounds resembling gunfire were heard near one of the residential houses. "After several hours, he was to behave aggressively towards a woman at a local establishment, repeatedly threatening her with death," police said.

No one was injured. Officers from the municipal district police station in Kráľovský Chlmec apprehended the man and secured evidence including camera recordings.

The man was charged with dangerous threatening with a weapon. "A court decided on his remand in custody," confirmed Košice regional police.
