A violent conflict erupted in the village of Banské in Vranov nad Topľou district, in which a man in his fifties physically assaulted a woman, set fire to cars on the property and subsequently died.

In the village of Banské, located in Vranov nad Topľou district, a dramatic case of violence took place. According to police information, a 49-year-old man physically attacked a 47-year-old woman there. Following this act, he allegedly set fire to cars on the family house property and subsequently took his own life.
These facts were confirmed by Jana Ligdayová, spokeswoman for the Regional Police Directorate in Prešov. The injured woman was transported by paramedics to hospital, where she received medical care.
The case is being investigated by a detective who is conducting it in the category of assault at the stage of attempt together with charges of public endangerment. Expert specialists were also involved to clarify the precise circumstances. The spokeswoman stated that police are carrying out all necessary steps to investigate the entire incident.
The reason why the attack occurred remains unknown. Police have not disclosed the relationship between the attacker and the victim.
