On Sunday in the early morning, a 32-year-old man crashed on Pansón Road in Bratislava. He was driving his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and drugs. After hitting public lighting, his car caught fire. Hungarian news portal 24.hu reported on the incident.
The incident occurred shortly before 1.30 a.m. The driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and hit a lamp. Subsequently his vehicle caught fire.
Firefighters and police officers were called to the scene. Rescue personnel extinguished the flames and transported the injured man to a healthcare facility. No one else was injured in the crash.
Police officers measured a value corresponding to 1.9 per mille alcohol in the driver's blood during a breathalyser test. Medical examination confirmed that he had prohibited substances in his system.
