On Sunday shortly before five o'clock in the afternoon, a chase unfolded between a motorcyclist and a police patrol from Pezinok in Budmerice. The driver on two wheels ignored calls to stop and attempted to escape.

The man accelerated sharply and headed through Báhoň, Kaplna and Blatné. Additional police teams gradually joined in the pursuit. The ride ended in Senec district, where the driver stopped beyond a junction and fled into the undergrowth. However, police officers discovered him and detained him with the assistance of coercive measures.

During inspection, it emerged that the 36-year-old man from the Pezinok area had no licence to drive a motor vehicle. Moreover, a court had banned him from driving until 2098. A breathalyser test showed he had alcohol above the limit of one per mille.

A police officer from Senec has already initiated criminal proceedings in the case. The driver faces prosecution for obstructing an official decision together with endangerment under the influence of a narcotic substance.
