Drunk driver in Rožňava district crashes into garden and injures woman

A man behind the wheel with more than 1.2 per mille alcohol in his breath left the road in the village of Čierna Lehota. His car ended up in a garden next to a house, where it struck a woman who was subsequently airlifted to a hospital in Košice.

On Sunday morning, a serious traffic collision occurred in the village of Čierna Lehota, which is located in Rožňava district. The driver of a passenger vehicle left the road and crashed into a garden next to a residential house.

At that time, a woman was on the property, whom the car hit. She suffered serious injuries, so rescue workers transported her by helicopter to a healthcare facility in Košice.

Police stated on social media that the man initially left the scene, but then returned. They conducted a breath test on him, which showed 0.59 mg/l of alcohol in his breath. This represents a value exceeding 1.2 per mille.

The driver was detained at the scene. Authorities investigating the case are examining how the situation occurred and who bears responsibility.
