In the Trenčín city district of Záblatie, an eighteen-year-old man was arrested on Saturday, 6 July, who had repeatedly gained illegal access to private properties and family homes. Officers from the rapid response motorised unit apprehended him shortly after someone reported the matter to police.

An investigator subsequently brought charges against him for repeated breach of home privacy. According to findings to date, the young man moved across several properties in the area on Saturday morning.

In one case, he entered an occupied house and took a wallet containing documents, a payment card and money. In another attempt, however, the homeowner caught him, so he left empty-handed. In the third case, a dog chased him from the building.

The most interesting detail is that during one of the break-ins, he enjoyed a prepared cup of cappuccino in a freely accessible space and ate several apricots.

After an appeal was published on social networks, other residents came forward providing information about similar behaviour. Thanks to them, police uncovered further cases, which are currently the subject of further investigation.

The investigator submitted a request to remand the accused in custody. If the court finds him guilty, the young man faces imprisonment of up to five years.
