A young man is accused of repeated breaks into private residences in the Záblatie district of Trenčín. In addition to stealing a wallet, he had coffee and ate apricots in one of the homes.

Investigators in Trenčín are pursuing an eighteen-year-old perpetrator for a series of break-ins into private residences. This is in connection with events on 6 July, when the man unlawfully moved around courtyards and interior spaces of homes in the Záblatie district. The case was reported by the regional police spokeswoman Petra Klenková, cited by the TASR agency on the website Aktuality.
According to the findings, the accused broke into one of the occupied apartments, from which he took a wallet containing identity documents, a bank card and money. On a subsequent attempt to breach a private space, he was caught by the owner, whereupon he fled. On the third attempt, he was driven out of the house by a guard dog.
As the spokeswoman stated, the most unusual circumstance of the entire series of break-ins was the perpetrator's behaviour during one of them. In someone else's home, he calmly enjoyed prepared cappuccino-type coffee and also ate several pieces of apricots that he found there.
Members of the Rapid Motorised Unit detained the suspect shortly after residents reported suspicious activity. The investigator subsequently submitted a request to take the accused into custody.
Police also published an appeal to the public on social media. Through this, other witnesses came forward who provided information relating to similar incidents. This information helped clarify further offences that were likely committed by the same perpetrator. Investigation into other possible cases of unauthorised entry into homes is currently ongoing.
If the court proves all the charges, the young man faces deprivation of liberty for up to five years.
