Peter Tóth criticised defence questions during examination in Kuciak case
After several hours of examination at the Specialised Criminal Court, witness Peter Tóth commented on the nature of questions posed to him by the defence counsel for defendant Marián Kočner.
As reported by the portal Denník N, Tóth used a quote attributed to medieval philosopher Thomas Aquinas: "I have the impression that we are looking for ten angels on the tip of a needle." Through this comparison he wished to express what banalities and trivialities he considered were being addressed in the course of his testimony.
From afternoon onwards the court continued to resolve contradictions between Tóth's June testimony and his previous statements from the preparatory proceedings as well as from the court proceedings to date. This part of the examination was led by defence counsel Marek Para on behalf of Marián Kočner.
The Denník N editorial noted that although Tóth attributed the quote to Thomas Aquinas, in fact this philosopher is not the author of the quoted remark.
