Fraud in Bratislava: unknown perpetrators robbed woman of bank card and €2,250
Bratislava police are investigating a fraud case in which unknown perpetrators tricked a woman into handing over her bank card and PIN code. Approximately €2,250 was subsequently withdrawn from her account.

Bratislava regional police have appealed to the public for help in clarifying a fraud case, according to Google News SK — Crime (sk). Unknown perpetrators contacted the victim woman from several mobile numbers, claiming that her funds amounting to €8,000 were located in their account.
To withdraw the money, the woman was supposed to first transfer €5,000 to their account — the perpetrators justified this as a "account movement". However, the victim woman considered the entire communication suspicious and did not carry out the transfer.
In the next phase, one of the female perpetrators, acting under the name Franková, persuaded her to reveal the daily withdrawal limit and security PIN code at a personal meeting. Under the pretext of arranging a money transfer, the woman was even shown the card during the meeting. After it ended, she discovered that she no longer had her bank card with her.
A reservation of €2,250 was subsequently registered in her account, with withdrawals occurring at several locations.
Police are investigating the case as fraud in conjunction with the offence of unauthorised creation and use of a payment instrument, committed in the form of joint perpetration.
Anyone who has information about the perpetrators' identities or their current whereabouts can contact police on the toll-free number 158, in person at any police station, or via private message to the police profile on social media.
