Unknown perpetrators are distributing fraudulent text messages whilst posing as representatives of the Interior Ministry. The Police of the Slovak Republic is warning the public about this fraud.
The SMS messages appear to be official announcements from state bodies. Their aim is likely to obtain sensitive data from recipients or cause them financial harm. Police warn that such communications are not legitimate.
Citizens are advised not to respond to similar messages and not to click on any links. In case of doubt, it is advisable to verify information directly through the official channels of the Interior Ministry or the police.
