Fraudsters are sending text messages in which they present themselves as the interior ministry, the police announced on social media. These messages appear as official announcements and attempt to force recipients to click on an attached link, through which fraudsters would gain access to personal data.
Police urged citizens never to click on such links. "Do not provide your payment card details or your internet banking login credentials. Do not be deceived by messages that require immediate action," the authorities stated in the warning.
At the same time, they asked the public to inform their close contacts about this fraudulent scheme.
