Police uncover car theft at border crossing in Vyšné Nemecké
On Sunday evening, a motor vehicle theft was uncovered thanks to the alertness of a chance witness. The incident occurred in the village of Vyšné Nemecké in Sobrance district, directly in the car park in front of the border crossing leading to Uzhhorod.
A citizen contacted a patrol from the Mobile Intervention Unit of the Police Corps because the behaviour of a group of people seemed suspicious to him. During the operation, they discovered that one car was towing another using a rope. After a check, the occupants admitted that they had stolen the vehicle and intended to transport it elsewhere.
Colleagues from the District Office in Sobrance also arrived at the scene, taking over the case for further investigation. An assigned officer initiated criminal proceedings for theft. Details were reported by the portal Korzár/SME.
