A major police operation by the Office to Combat Organised Crime targeting a criminal group resembling structures from the 1990s resulted in twelve people detained and nine charged.

In an extensive police operation, more than four hundred officers from the Office to Combat Organised Crime were deployed. The action was directed against a criminal group that gained notoriety in the Funeral case. During the operation, police detained twelve people, nine of whom face charges. Investigators submitted requests for seven of them to be remanded in custody.
According to findings by the security services, the group operated similarly to gangs that were active on Slovak territory thirty years ago. Members were alleged to control the business environment through extortion, physical violence, intimidation, bribery and economic pressure.
Police searched fourteen residences, nineteen other premises and conducted sixteen personal searches. Among the items seized were smartphones, laptops, memory sticks and other electronic media. Officers also seized signal jamming devices, tracking devices, equipment for recording images and sound, cash in several currencies, ammunition and containers with flammable liquid.
