Police officers conducted a large-scale operation against drug smugglers in Martin. During the raid, four suspects were detained and plant material, a crystalline substance and money were discovered.

On Sunday, 28 June, in the afternoon, a massive police operation was carried out in Martin targeting a group suspected of illegal sale of narcotic substances. The operation involved specialists from the National Anti-Drug Unit, members of the RHCP mobile deployment unit, as well as police officers from the departments in Nitra and Košice. A prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office in Martin oversaw the entire course of the raid.
The officers conducting the raid carried out several searches of flats, other buildings, plots of land and personal searches. As a result of the operation, four individuals were taken into police custody. Among the seized items, they discovered cash, mobile telephones, a car, dried plant material and white crystalline powder.
The seized substances will be subjected to expert analysis in forensic laboratories. Based on the expert results, which will determine the chemical composition, the investigator will consider charges and the legal qualification of the offence. Regarding further circumstances of the case, the law enforcement bodies have not yet provided any further details.
