In the village of Banské, located in Vranov nad Topľou District, a dramatic incident took place. A 49-year-old perpetrator attacked a 47-year-old woman here. He subsequently set fire to vehicles on a property near a family home and then took his own life.
Jana Ligdayová, spokesperson for the Prešov Regional Police Directorate, confirmed the information. Rescue workers transported the injured victim to a healthcare facility. According to reports from the public broadcaster, she sustained a head injury.
Law enforcement agencies are investigating the case in connection with attempted bodily harm and endangering the public. Experts were consulted to clarify the situation.
