As reported by Google News SK — Crime (sk), three men suspected of involvement in a murder in the Polish city of Krakow were detained in Bratislava's Petržalka on Friday, 28 August.
The attack occurred during the night of 20 to 21 August in the Nowa Huta district. A group of individuals physically assaulted a 36-year-old man at the location, who subsequently succumbed to his injuries. The attackers fled the scene.
Over the following days, Krakow police obtained operational information that three suspects were located in the territory of Bratislava. "Police officers of Krakow police obtained during the past days operational information, according to which three persons reasonably suspected of involvement in this matter are to be located in the territory of Bratislava," said spokesman Szeiff.
After verification and confirmation of this information, Bratislava regional criminal police officers intervened together with members of the Bratislava Emergency Police Unit. Since it could not be ruled out that the individuals might be armed, the operation was conducted at full alert. The three men were detained in a flat on Šustekova Street; no person was injured during the operation.
According to Szeiff, checks confirmed that two of the men were wanted by Krakow police for the purposes of international extradition. The third was recorded in the records of Polish authorities as a missing minor.
All three were escorted to the relevant police department and subsequently handed over to representatives of Krakow police.
