Criminal complaint filed against attacker days before Stáşkov massacre: collage with teachers
Teachers filed a criminal complaint against a thirteen-year-old attacker just days before the tragedy in Stáşkov. The Slovak police inspectorate is now investigating whether the tragedy could have been prevented.

Attack in Stáşkov: criminal complaint arrived before deadly assault
Blesk.cz reports that the Slovak police inspectorate has launched an investigation into police procedures in the case of a deadly attack at an elementary school in Stáşkov. It has emerged that teachers filed a criminal complaint against the thirteen-year-old attacker several days before the tragedy—because of a collage on which he depicted teachers in a concentration camp.
A fellow pupil named Nella, who later became one of the victims of the attack, drew attention to the disturbing image.
Police president Jana Maškarová commented on the matter to TV Markíza: "It was classified as a misdemeanour. The complaint did not suggest concerns about life or health." The inspectorate has now launched criminal prosecution in the case for abuse of power by a public official. The head of the inspectorate stated that authorities were aware of the attacker's behaviour before the deadly assault. According to him, more information could be known by the end of the week.
The attack occurred on 29 September. Thirteen-year-old Daniel attacked classmate Nella (†13) with a knife, and she succumbed to the attack. A teacher, Božena (†61), also died. Another teacher, aged 44, suffered a stab wound to the chest and was hospitalised—her condition is no longer life-threatening.
Slovakia was deeply shaken by news of the tragedy. Stáşkov bade farewell to murdered teacher Božena at a funeral in a church, where her killer had previously served as an altar boy.
