Slovak authorities have prevented a planned arson attack on a drone factory in eastern Slovakia, according to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. Three foreign nationals have been detained in connection with the case and have already been charged.
The factory, which was the target of the attack, is located in the eastern part of the country; police did not disclose the specific location. The investigation is being conducted under the heading of "a particularly serious crime threatening public safety". Investigators have not ruled out changing the charge to sabotage.
According to police, the attack could have caused a widespread fire, endangered the lives and health of people, and caused large-scale losses. At the time of the planned attack, approximately 70 employees could have been present at the facility. The value of property in the production hall is estimated at tens of millions of euros.
During the detention, a larger quantity of an incendiary substance identified as napalm was seized, along with tools, mobile phones, a camera, and a handwritten plan of the facility. Officers took action after receiving information from special services, which enabled the identification and detention of the suspects.
Police spokesperson Roman Hajek informed that further details would be provided once the "procedural situation" allows.
