Incident in an eastern Slovak city: after a woman refused to open the door to him, he set fire to the flat entrance. Shortly afterwards, he doused himself in flammable liquid in front of the building and caught fire.

On Sunday, 5 July, a dramatic incident occurred in Trebišov. Police from the Košice region reported the case on social networks.
A man attempted to gain entry to one of the flats in an apartment block. However, the woman who was inside did not allow him access. According to police, a fire subsequently broke out at the flat's entrance doors. By doing so, he endangered the life of the woman and other residents living in the building.
A short time later he came out in front of the building. There he doused himself with a flammable substance and caught fire. Paramedics transported him to hospital with burn injuries. No other people suffered any injuries in this incident.
Fire brigade units and police patrols responded to the scene. Investigators initiated criminal proceedings for general endangerment and dangerous threats. The case continues to be intensively investigated.
