Driver without licence flees police in Partizánske, hits another vehicle
A 28-year-old man was driving whilst his driving licence was suspended, and fled from police following a check. Two people sustained minor injuries in an accident in the village of Veľké Bielice.

Police have initiated criminal proceedings for assault on a public official against a 28-year-old man who fled from a patrol on Sunday afternoon in Partizánske despite having his driving licence suspended. This was reported by Trenčín police spokeswoman Ingrid Krajčíková according to the SITA news agency.
The man was stopped during a routine traffic check, and was unable to prove his identity. Police officers brought him to the District Traffic Inspectorate in Partizánske, where they established that he was driving whilst his driving licence was suspended. As Krajčíková stated, the man had previously engaged in unlawful conduct on a number of occasions.
After documenting the traffic violation, he left the police building. Since he reported persistent health difficulties unrelated to the violation, emergency medical services were called for him. "After emergency medical services arrived, the patrol heard shouting and ran outside the building, where they noticed the man getting into a vehicle and attempting to leave despite his driving licence being suspended," the spokeswoman explained. He did not respond to their commands and drove away from the scene.
Several patrols subsequently pursued him throughout Partizánske district. The man drove in the direction of Topoľčany and back. At a junction in the village of Veľké Bielice, he failed to give way to another vehicle, which resulted in a traffic accident. After the collision, he attempted to flee, but police officers detained him.
Two people sustained minor injuries in the incident. The man was subjected to a breath test and a preliminary test for narcotic and psychotropic substances — both tests were negative. Blood and urine samples were taken from him for further examination. "Police are currently conducting investigations to properly clarify the matter," Krajčíková added. The man was deprived of his liberty.
