Police from Nitra stopped a 39-year-old driver of a Seat Altea vehicle under the influence of narcotic substances during a patrol service. According to ta3.com, police published the case on social media.
The patrol attempted to stop the driver with audible and warning signals, but the man did not respond to the signals and began to evade. "Officers followed the vehicle and additional patrols joined the chase," police stated.
The escape ended when the driver lost control and went off the road. Even then, however, according to police, he did not attempt to end the situation. "As he was still trying to leave the scene with the vehicle, officers in accordance with the law used the threat of a weapon," police wrote. After this measure, the man began to cooperate.
Medical examination subsequently confirmed the presence of amphetamine and benzodiazepine in his system. Police also found that the man had a retained driving licence, although a ban on driving motor vehicles had not been imposed on him.
Officers drew up a report on the outcome of clarifying the misdemeanour with the driver and prohibited him from driving further.
