On Monday, proceedings continued at the Specialised Criminal Court in Pezinok in the main trial in the case of the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and the planned murders of prosecutors. Crown witness Zoltán Andruskó faced re-examination.
The court is attempting to clarify contradictions that have emerged in his previous testimony. Andruskó played the role of intermediary in Kuciak's murder, for which he is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence. The man was brought into the courtroom again with his face covered.
In both cases, he provided testimony that incriminates Alena Zsuzsová. According to his view, the main client of the murder was Marian Kočner. From the list of defendants, Marian Kočner and Dušan Kováčik participated in the proceedings, whilst Alena Zsuzsová and Darko Dráš consented to the proceedings taking place in their absence.
In May, the court questioned Andruskó over three days. He first gave a spontaneous statement, and subsequently answered questions posed to him. The court is now examining further evidence and attempting to resolve any inconsistencies in the witness's testimony.
