Woman repeatedly stabbed partner with knife in Košice district, charged with attempted murder

An ordinary domestic argument in one of the municipalities in Košice district escalated on 19 September into a violent incident with life-threatening consequences. According to kosicednes.sk, a 29-year-old woman under the influence of alcohol attacked her partner with a knife and inflicted serious injuries on him.
According to police findings, the woman first stabbed the man in the chest area. After the forceful blow he fell to the ground, but the attack did not end there — the attacker stabbed him twice more, this time in the back. The man sustained injuries that directly endangered his life. A fatal outcome was prevented only by timely and professional medical care.
Police forces initiated criminal proceedings immediately after the incident. Criminal investigators secured key traces and evidence at the scene, which they then analysed in detail over the following days.
On the basis of the documented facts, an investigator from the criminal police department of the Regional Police Directorate in Košice formally charged the 29-year-old woman on Friday, 2 October, with the particularly serious crime of attempted murder committed against a protected person.
The accused was restricted in her personal liberty and placed in police custody. The investigator also prepared a motion for her to be remanded in investigative custody, which the court will decide on.
