Chauffeur 'Skero' arrested for theft of copper piping at CBB Henar
Three people were arrested in Henar on Monday following the theft of copper water pipes from the CBB office. A lorry and piping have been seized.
Suspect throws plastic bag from moving lorry during police check
Henar police arrested three people at 07.45 on Monday morning following a report of theft at the Central Bureau for Civil Affairs (CBB) on Pandanrijstweg, according to De Ware Tijd. An employee who arrived for work discovered a sawn-through copper water pipe that had been removed.
En route to the CBB office, police officers noticed a suspect lorry on Ir. Mn. Ataoellahweg. When they ordered the driver, D.B. alias Skero, to stop, he threw a plastic bag from the vehicle.
The bag was found to contain two pieces of copper piping, fitted with a plastic component from a durotan tap. The pipes matched the piping that had been stolen earlier from the CBB office.
The three individuals — Skero, a 46-year-old fellow passenger P.K. and his partner — were taken to Henar police station. Skero has been remanded in custody pending the investigation. P.K. was released after questioning. The copper pipes and the lorry have been seized in the interests of the investigation.
