Main suspect in vehicle fraud cases in Suriname arrested in Uitvlugt, more than ten victims identified
The 30-year-old S.F., suspected organiser of a series of car fraud cases in Suriname, has been arrested at his hideout in Uitvlugt. More than ten victims have already been identified.

The Surinamese police arrested the 30-year-old S.F. on Thursday 17 September in a house in the Uitvlugt district. This is reported by Waterkant. The man was found after a specialised intelligence unit had processed information and subsequently, together with the Eastern Region Detective Unit, had traced his place of residence.
S.F. is connected by police to multiple cases of vehicle theft. In those cases, false bank transfer receipts were reportedly used systematically. Previously arrested suspects in the case have stated that F. is the suspected organiser and the person who arranged the false payment receipts.
According to information obtained by the Waterkant editorial team, the number of victims has now risen to more than ten. The police are still investigating the extent to which the various fraud cases are connected to each other and what exact role F. played in them.
The arrested man is no stranger to the Surinamese police and justice system. According to information obtained, he has been detained multiple times in the past. The investigation into the cases and any further victims will continue.
