The 34-year-old T.B.W. stated that he was driving along Kieselweg when he came across a group of young men on the roadway. According to him, they are frequently there, forcing motorists to swerve. He approached the group, but his remarks were ignored.
Subsequently, T.B.W. drew his service weapon and fired a shot into the air. He then held one of the young men at gunpoint for some time. No one was injured by a bullet.
As for the reason why the young men were on the road, accounts vary. T.B.W. stated that they were hanging out there; the young men themselves told police that they were gaming at that location.
Following consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, T.B.W. has been remanded in custody. His service weapon has been seized and forms part of the further investigation.
