A young minor admitted to the court his participation as a co-perpetrator in the homicide of a 63-year-old man committed on 10 August 2025 in La Cruz de Carrasco, according to a report from the General Prosecutor's Office.

The homicide was classified as especially aggravated because it was perpetrated immediately after another crime, with the intention of covering it up, destroying evidence, preventing the arrest of those responsible and due to the subsequent burning of the body.

The crime had its origin in an economic debt. The victim had lent money to the owner of a business in the area and had presented himself at the establishment that day. The shop owner contacted the minor so that, together with other people not yet identified, he would wait outside the establishment and rob him.

Once approached, the attackers took him to a remote location where they suffocated him until depriving him of air and then shot him in the skull with a firearm, causing his death. Later, they drove the victim's vehicle with his body in the boot to a field, where they set the vehicle on fire.

During the judicial hearing, the accused accepted his responsibility in the facts as a co-perpetrator and opted for the simplified process route.
