Alias "Sopita" remanded to custody for murder in Monarca neighbourhood
Michael Matías Silva Pullol, alias Sopita, was charged with aggravated homicide and remanded to custody for 90 days. Authorities are investigating his possible involvement in other crimes.

According to montevideo.com.uy, Michael Matías Silva Pullol, alias Sopita, was charged on the evening of Friday 11 September with "a crime of aggravated homicide", in accordance with a statement from the Interior Ministry released on Saturday morning.
As a precautionary measure, remand to custody was ordered for 90 days, ending on 11 December.
The charge is linked to the homicide that occurred on 23 January 2026 in the Monarca neighbourhood, where a 31-year-old man was shot inside his home. The Ministry clarified that the formalisation of the investigation responds specifically to that incident.
"Investigations carried out by the Homicide Department of the Directorate for Complex Cases continue to determine his responsibility in other criminal acts", the official statement reads.
Silva Pullol was also being investigated in connection with two other homicides. The first occurred on 10 March in Villa García, where a 27-year-old man was found dead in a rubbish dump located in an empty area of the zone. The second took place on 16 March in Las Toscas, Canelones, when a 32-year-old man was shot inside his home and suffered multiple bullet wounds.
