A car attendant living on the streets was murdered by beating in the centre of Montevideo, according to teledoce.com. The body was found inside the public service area of a food cart located at the corner of Uruguay and Paraguay avenues.
The victim presented with a blow to the head and heavy bleeding. Neighbours in the area identified him as a man who routinely looked after cars on nearby blocks and who slept every night in that same place, where he was found dead this Friday.
To date, the victim has not been formally identified. Neighbours provided the only available details about his identity and routine.
The Montevideo Homicide Department took charge of the investigation. Investigators presume that the perpetrator of the crime could be someone from the area, although they are working to establish precisely what happened and determine the identity of the person responsible.
The Scientific Police examined the scene in search of evidence to advance the case.
