According to montevideo.com.uy, a 20-year-old man was murdered on Thursday in Barros Blancos, at the intersection of 19 de Abril and 19 de Junio streets. The victim was being pursued by his attackers, who were travelling on motorbikes.
The young man managed to enter the yard of a house where he had been staying for several days. The occupants of the motorbikes continued shooting at him within the property. His body was found in that same yard.
On a path leading towards a nearby field, several spent 9-millimetre cartridges were subsequently found. The investigation initially points to two motorbikes whose occupants would have carried out the shooting. The exact number of perpetrators and the dynamics of the attack remain under investigation.
Investigators are also analysing whether the homicide is related to threats that people close to the victim had previously received.
Scientific Police, personnel from Canelones Police Headquarters, officers from Pando Investigations and the State Prosecutor's Office worked at the scene.
