14-year-old detained with weapons and drugs in police operation in Montevideo
A 14-year-old adolescent was arrested at the intersection of Camino Alianza and Camino Cibils after attempting to flee with what appeared to be a long gun. Police seized pistols, ammunition, marijuana and multiple items.

A 14-year-old adolescent was detained during a search operation at the intersection of Camino Alianza and Camino Cibils in Montevideo, according to montevideo.com.uy, based on the police report of the operation.
The procedure was conducted by the Investigations Division of Operational Zone IV Headquarters, as part of an investigation linked to a crime involving a firearm discharge.
Upon arriving at the residence, officers observed the minor leaving with a bag and what appeared to be a long gun. After receiving an order to stop, the adolescent attempted to take refuge in a nearby farm building, but was restrained by police officers.
Among the weapons seized were a 9-millimetre calibre pistol with serial numbers removed, a carbine-type submachine gun of the same calibre without serialisation, and an air-powered pistol. Also confiscated were an extended magazine with capacity for 40 rounds, a bandolier and cartridges of different calibres.
In addition to the weapons, agents found a package of pressed marijuana and a precision scale. The operation also resulted in the seizure of a motorcycle, a bicycle, a pressure washer, two lawnmowers, a wood cutter, a concrete mixer, a welder and a grinder.
The list of items also includes two aluminium windows, a four-outlet extension lead with thermal circuit breaker, 11 white ceramic tiles, a sealed package of ceramics, an industrial scale with stand, a roll of thermal insulation and a petrol-powered industrial water pump.
The Flagrante Delicto and Adolescents Prosecutors' Offices were notified of the procedure, whilst investigations continue.
