17-year-old detained in Punta de Rieles following getaway in stolen car
A teenager attempted to flee from police in a Mini Cooper stolen in the Punta de Rieles neighbourhood of Montevideo. The court imposed nine months of supervised liberty on him.

According to montevideo.com.uy, officers from the Departmental Investigations Brigade for Motor Vehicle Crimes recovered a Mini Cooper automobile reported as stolen on Wednesday and detained a 17-year-old youth in the vicinity of Senda 3 and Senda 1, near Camino Géminis, in the Punta de Rieles neighbourhood of Montevideo.
The uniformed officers arrived at the location after receiving information about the vehicle's whereabouts, a theft report for which had been filed on 20 September. Upon noticing the police presence, the occupants of the car attempted to leave the site.
The officers managed to intercept one of them, an adolescent who was listed as sought by the Investigations Area of Operational Zone II. By order of the Office of the Prosecutor for Adolescents, Second Shift, the youth was brought before the courts through the National Institute for Adolescent Social Inclusion (INISA).
The Juvenile Court of the Fourth Shift held him responsible for two serious breaches of criminal law: criminal association in actual reiteration with receiving stolen property. As a non-custodial socio-educational measure, the court imposed nine months of supervised liberty on him.
